Though I hated "Music Appreciation" in college, I did come out of it with a greater appreciation for classical tunes; so job well done. Mozart has his Amadeus and now Vivaldi will have his, well, he will have his Vivaldi.
Hand Picked Films Gets Vivaldi
The production already has Joseph Fiennes to play Vivaldi and Boris Damast to direct, but it still fell short on financing and producers. Fortunately Hand Picked Films -- almost four months later -- have put on their game faces by having principals Michel Shane and Anthony Romano and financier Carlos Melcer come aboard to produce the bioic.
Vivaldi follows Vivaldi as a young, eccentric priest in the 1700s assigned to serve as music master of a school for the abandoned illegitimate daughters of Venice's courtesans. Malcolm McDowell, Lena Headey, Jacqueline Bisset, Gerard Depardieu and Elle Fanning also star.
The script comes from journalist Jeffrey Freedman, who spent more than two decades researching Vivaldi. For those who don't care for classical music, Vivaldi was the composer who delivered the famous composition titled The Four Seasons.
