Even though practically everyone “departed”…there are rumors a’brewin!
Although everyone got shot in the head, The Departed writer William Monahan has been throwing the idea around with Martin Scorsese for a follow up.
The Departed Sequel/Prequel
How do you sequent a film where every star physically CAN”T come back? Well, Hollywood doesn’t care as long as money can be made. Internal Affairs, the Hong Kong movie which The Departed was based on, had a prequel and a sequel. Problem is, the sequel was based on Matt Damon’s character. Unless we are going to watch the blood coalesce around his dead body, they’re going to need to come up with a new idea.
Nothing is in stone but when the rich can get richer, you’re sure to see the vultures circling for a bite any way they can get it.
