Now that Rob Corddry is retired as correspondent from The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, the actor has begun to pick up roles in the genre that suits him best, comedy. A couple days back Corddry jumped aboard the White Castle sequel and he is now in final negotiations to star in the Will Ferrell comedy Semi-Pro.

Rob Corddry and DeRay Davis are hoping to join a cast that already includes Will Ferrell, Will Arnett, Wood Harrelson and Andre Benjamin.
Written by Scot Armstrong, Semi-Pro is set in the world of the American Basketball Assn. and follows Jackie Moon (Ferrell), the owner-coach-player of the fictional Flint Michigan Tropics. Moon must lead his team on a desperate attempt to make it to the big leagues.
Kent Alterman will direct. Semi-Pro will be his feature debut as director. Alterman has helped produce films such as Little Children and A History of Violence.
Corddry will play Harrelson's nemesis, the man who is dating his ex-girlfriend. David is a player who showboats on court, earning himself multiple fouls.
Though Corddry is off The Daily Show, he hasn't left television entirely. Actor will topline the upcoming Fox series The Winner.
DeRay Davis was last seen in Code Name: The Cleaner and School for Scoundrels.
