Indiana Jones
One updated statistic over at BoxOfficeMojo is likely to set off a brush fire of Indy news tomorrow. According to the site, Paramount Pictures is following lessons learned from the last two Star Wars films by taking advantage of a four-day Memorial Day weekend for the theatrical release of Indiana Jones IV - which now has the working title of Fourth Installment of the Indiana Jones Adventure.
Indy 4 Coming Memorial Day Weekend, May 22nd, 2008
We have already been told that Indiana Jones would return May of 2008, but it was only today that an official weekend has been announced. We should have guessed, considering that a four-day Memorial Day weekend has helped films like Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith, The Matrix Reloaded and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade score huge receipts at the box office.
And, if memory serves me well, George Lucas also had his hand in more than a a couple of these projects.
Not all is in the clear just yet however. Warner Bros was hoping that the Wachowski brothers'Speed Racer would fill that same theatrical release date. Since Speed Racer is targeted at family audiences, one of these projects will likely have to back off.
There you have it, Indiana Jones IV opens to theatres May 22nd, 2008
