The Kingdom
Well what better thing to do with a good thing than to delay the damn thing?
Apparently, Universal Pictures has been so pleased with the reactions to the screening of The Kingdom that it has pushed back its release from April 20th to September 28th. I’ve heard of gaining some steam before but 5 months is a bit much, no?
Release Date Pushed for The Kingdom
Forgetting that everything is about money, Universal felt that the action drama set in the Middle East would do better coming out Columbus Day weekend. Nothing says “money bin” like Holiday weekends. Add that to the fact that they could set a brush fire with the anticipated buzz that will be released and rest assured, you won’t forget that this movie will be coming out on September 28th.
The movie doesn’t exactly have shlubs running the helm. Peter Berg directed it and Michael Mann is one of the producers along side Scott Stuber. The Kingdom stars Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Garner and Chris Cooper as FBI agents tracking down a terrorist mastermind following an attack on a U.S. installation in the Middle East.
The Kingdom opens to theatres on April 20th, 2007.
