Spies Like Us
I have always assumed that I was among a minority who found Spies Like Us to be highly enjoyable. Throw in a supposed hot Russian in white underwear and a great combination of character between Aykroyd and Chase and it could some day become a classic. Well, if it isn't a classic already.
Wait, is it a classic? Remember, minority.
Warner Bros Finds More Spies Like Us In Europe
According to Clint over at Moviehole, Warner Bros is part of my minority group and feels that a sequel for the spy comedy is in order.
Inspiration has definitely dipped in Burbank, with Warner Bros championing a remake of a modestly successful John Landis comedy.
The film that introduced Donna Dixon’s buxom bosom the world, Spies Like Us (1985), a two-hander starring Chevy Chase and Dan Aykroyd as a couple of loser misfits who dwell in the lower ranks of the Central Intelligence Agency, is about to get the remake treatment. Warner teams with Imagine (yep, Brian Grazer’s a producer on it; change of pace for him, hey?) and Thunder Road on the pic.
Who will pull Spies Like Us back out of the desert sand or Russian snow? How about Alec Berg, Jeff Schaffer and Dave Mandel? You know, the same three guys who gave us Euro Trip. The movie was surprisingly OK, and as long as we can have the return of Mr. Pink on the train then I'm cool with it.
