Correction: Ghost Rider Burns CanMag!

International Ghost Rider Poster Ghost Rider
Talk about a strange twist of events! Late Wednesday/early Thursday we pointed out the NYPost article claiming that Columbia Pictures would not be holding any early Ghost Rider screenings for the press or critics. We immediately assumed Columbia was doing this because they had their very own Daredevil on their hands and early reviews would only hurt the film's opening box office take. We then went on to compare Columbia to a damaged high school cheerleader for this action and, in the end, it turns out we were wrong and are now being punished.

Check it out, another CanMag first!

Ghost Rider Not Covered... by CanMag

It turns out that Columbia Pictures had a press screening for Ghost Rider yesterday and another one is expected today. The screenings that will be taking place Thursday February 15th, are actually promotional.

Why the confusion? Something to do with a "timing issue." It would also seem that the NYPost was a little butt-hurt that they were not invited to or could not make the screening that occurred yesterday or the one today. We based our judgment on the NyPost article and can now confirm that it was incorrect.

Instead of contacting us direct on the grievous error, Columbia has instead put us on a bus to Banville. That's right, we have been banned from providing any extended coverage on Ghost Rider. So I guess media buys are out? What this means is no interviews this week and next and possible no early review. We didn't have any 'exclusive' clips coming, so no ouch there.

We will, however, continue to point out Ghost Rider media updates that appear over the web this next week. I mean, who still doesn't like clips, posters and trailers?

Some of our readers have already noticed this, but we have pulled Ghost Rider off of our banner. Hey, if we are not covering it we are not covering it.

*Just for the record, I liked The Da Vinci Code.

Ghost Rider opens to theatres on February 16th.

For the movie poster, trailers, stills, video journals, set pics, movie info and synopsis, go to the Ghost Rider Movie Page.

Stay tuned for updates.
