Fake trailers mean more opportunities for cameo appearances from big names including Nicolas Cage.
Nicolas Cage to Appear in Grindhouse Trailer
RT has recently confirmed that Nicolas Cage will be making a blip appearance in one of the fake trailers that will be shown during Grindhouse. Though this cameo would normally have Dimension and TWC digging into their pockets, Rodriguez's friendship with Cage has helped Johnny Blaze transition into this horror nicely.
"My friend Rob Zombie, I know him only socially," recalled Cage. "I like him. He's a nice man. We have good memories together over the years. He said would I do this part of Fu Manchu and I said sure."
It all sounds so simple, but Cage admits it's total camp. "One day, two lines, I mean it was just completely ridiculous. I haven't seen it. I'm not in any of the movies. Two seconds, that's it."
Edgar Wright, Eli Roth and Rob Zombie will help contribute some fake trailers of their own.
With the addition of Nicolas Cage we can only ask, "anyone else?"
Grindhouse opens to theatres on April 6th.
