When The Hardy Boys grow up they become The Hardy Men. And who to play such men? After years of doing parodies of Tom Cruise, Ben Stiller will team with the actor in this action comedy.
Cruise, Stiller for The Hardy Men
Night at the Museum director Shawn Levy will direct the adaptation of the mystery series The Hardy Boys with both Tom Cruise and Ben Stiller set to star.
What can we expect from the return of these male Nancy Drew's? Well, the boys have grown up and become estranged. They are forced to come back together to solve one last case.
Cruise has been friends with Stiller ever since 2000, when Stiller did an impersonation of the actor. Cruise later took part in a spoof on himself with Stiller during a skit on the 2002 MTV Movie Awards.
Cruise and Stiller are also in talks to team up for Tropic Thunder, a film that Stiller will direct for DreamWorks. As a chance of irony, Paramount, the same studio that recently severed Tom Cruise, will handle the distribution of the film.
Since Tropic Thunder is still in the talking stage, The Hardy Men will get priority. Stiller and Shawn Levy will reteam for the comedy.
The formula to The Hardy Men will supposedly be something like Mr and Mrs Smith.
