Movie Trailer: Grindhouse
At the time this report went up we still had one hour to go before the feature trailer for Grindhouse went live over at Yahoo! Movies.
Tomorrow, February 16, 2007 Dimension Films will simultaneously debut the trailer of the highly anticipated double feature Grindhouse across four different platforms including online, via mobile phones, on television and in theaters nationwide. The trailer will debut exclusively online on Yahoo! Movies, for mobile users on Verizon Wireless V CAST, on television during CW's WWE Friday Night Smackdown! and the Sci-FI Channel's Special Unit 2, and in theatres prior to Ghost Rider. This marketing strategy that will reach millions of viewers has never been done before. It was announced today by Bob Weinstein, co-chairman of The Weinstein Company and Dimension Films.
Sanjeev Lamba, executive vice president of marketing and new media for Dimension Films stated, “Grindhouse is a once-in-a lifetime movie event, a double feature created by two of the most exciting directors in movies today, Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez. We are delighted to be able to celebrate the unique spirit of the movie with an unprecedented simultaneous launch of the trailer across different media - giving our audience the opportunity to get a taste of Grindhouse, through their medium of choice.”
This trailer launch is one of many initiatives being implemented for the marketing campaign, highlights of which include special television promotions with leading television networks including TNT, F/X, USA, the Sci Fi Channel, Spike TV, ESPN, MTV and VH1, a range of collectibles from NECA, in store support from Blockbuster and a soundtrack from Maverick Records.
