Reno 911!: Miami Reno 911!: Miami
The Miami experience was not all positive for the Reno 911 officers. Spending only three days policing the city while the local force waited in quarantine, the Reno cops found themselves in a totally foreign land.

Interview: Travis Junior (Ben Garant) on Reno 911!: Miami

“It's really expensive there,” said officer Travis Junior. “We looked around while we were there because we loved the place. We figured if we were going to get a one bedroom apartment there, the eight of us would have to find an additional eight roommates and all of us deal cocaine just to pay rent. And this is not even that close to the beach.

It may actually be good that they didn’t fall in love with Miami, because Miami has dubbed them personas non grata. “They made it real clear they didn't want us back. Even though we saved the city, they actually gave us the keys to Jacksonville.”

While Reno 911: Miami makes it clear that the Reno cops did their fair share of damage to the city, Travis Junior blames the film’s producers for manipulating the footage. “If the camera followed you 24/7, you wake up, you rub one out, you go to work, you make a deuce, you go back to work, and you go to bed, if they cut out the part where you were at work, you'd look like a real heavy sh*ttin' horny retard. Think about that. We don’t like the camera being pointed this way. Try pointing them back at yourself.”

Getting to Miami from Reno by bus made the force closer than they ever wanted to be. “I will say, if you ever travel across country on a bus, they have these on/off passes that you get for an additional four dollars. They let you get off the bus and then back on. Splurge. It's worth it. You think about the four dollars, but then later on you wish you did it.”

The film may be seen as a sort of recruitment video for law enforcement, but Junior makes his own message very clear. “If there's one thing I hope children take away from this movie, it's don't go into law enforcement. Crime doesn't pay. Neither does law enforcement. Technically, if you go to jail, you get dental. We don't get dental.”

Of course, he’s still bitter about being tricked into appearing on Reno 911 in the first place. “We signed these waivers, Dangle told us that we were getting wave runners. It was for basic cable, they told us the show was Heroes on Patrol. They said it was going to make us look like hard working crime fighting heroes. Then Mr. DeVito, sitting around with Clooney and his limoncello discussing the liberal agenda said, ‘Hey, we can make these hard working, red stating citizens look like fools. Let's do it.’”

Reno 911!: Miami opens to theatres on February 23rd.
