On November 9th thousands of moviegoers over the age of 23 are going to experience a bit of deja vu when Lions for Lambs gets released under the United Artists banner.
Could UA theatres begin making a comeback?
Lions for Lambs Release Date
Just in case you have been out of the Cruise/Wagner loop, the duo recently resurrected United Artists after being given the boot from Paramount. The first project on the studio's to-do list is the Robert Redford-directed Lions for Lambs starring Cruise, Meryl Streep, Redford, Derek Luke, Michael Pena, Andrew Garfield and Peter Berg.
Written by Matthew Carnahan, Lions for Lambs takes the Babel approach by telling the story of three interconnected storylines: Cruise as a congressman who interacts with a journalist (Streep); Redford as an idealistic professor who attempts to inspire a privileged student in his class; and a third storyline about a pair of American soldiers wounded in enemy territory, one of whom is Redford's former student.
Lions for Lambs entered production on January 29th.
The film will be produced by Carnahan, Redford, Tracy Falco and Andrew Hauptman.
