Justice League
There is no question that Warner Bros knows how to run a franchise. The studio recently scored with the resurrection of Batman and is now looking to get that hero to team up with a bunch more in DC's Justice League.
Warner Bros to Adapt Justice League
One thing that will be tricky about Justice League is the multiple heroes. Like X-Men, a screenplay will have to perfectly balance the action while giving each hero/character their moments on screen.
The JLA roster includes Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Atom, Zatanna, Plastic Man, Captain Marvel, Hawkman and many more. Warner Bros will have their pick, but don't expect an official roster from the studio any time soon.
To get that perfect script, Warner Bros has recently made their first move on the project by picking up writing duo Kiernan and Michele Mulroney.
"The Justice League of America has been a perennial favorite for generations of fans, and we believe their appeal to film audiences will be as strong and diverse as the characters themselves," Warner prexy of production Jeff Robinov said in announcing the hiring of the Mulroneys.
Before casting is to go forward, Warner Bros will be forced to face a bit of a conundrum. Who to use for Superman and Batman? These two characters will most definitely appear in the film and, thanks to recent films for both franchises, actors are already playing the parts. Will Christian Bale jump aboard as Batman and Brandon Routh as Superman?
According to Warner Bros, casting will depend entirely on the story arc. Is it possible that they would use different actors for the parts? Well, considering they did have Routh and Bale game for a Batman vs Superman, it is doubtful that the studio would have to look anywhere else.
Like all comic book adaptations, Justice League could spawn into a huge franchise for Warner Bros. And we all know how the studio loves its franchises.
Stay tuned for updates.
