George Clooney
Currently preparing for the theatrical release of another Ocean's film, George Clooney has joined up with Cate Blanchett to (possibly) voice the lead characters in Wes Anderson's stop-motion film The Fantastic Mr. Fox.
Clooney, Blanchett for The Fantastic Mr. Fox
The Fantastic Mr. Fox is an adaptation of Roald Dahl's classic children's story, centering on a clever fox who must outwit three mean, dimwitted farmers who try their hardest to hurt Mr. Fox and his family. Though it would have been humorous to have Clooney voicing one of the dimwitted farmers, he will obviously be given the task of providing a voice to Mr. Fox.
Cate Blanchett, who will be reuniting with Clooney off of The Good German, will voice Mr. Fox's wife.
Scott Rudin Prods. will produce with 20th Century Fox being the most likely candidate to distribute.
Wes Anderson will turn to The Fantastic Mr. Fox after he completes his current film, The Darjeeling Ltd., which he will release under Fox Searchlight.
No rush for the director considering that Clooney is still in production on Leatherheads and Blanchett remains on set of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. See Blanchett this Sunday at the Academy Awards. Actress was nominated for her role in Notes on a Scandal.
