Michelle Monaghan
Columbia Pictures has confirmed that Michelle Monaghan is looking to add another comedy to her already-interesting filmography. A romantic interest in M:i:III goes lesbian tech in Mr and Mrs Smith to failed Hollywood actress in Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang. The actress is ready to try her hand at romance again, but this time it will be something less dangerous more funny.
Michelle Monaghan for Made of Honor
Michelle Monaghan will star opposite Grey's Anatomy's very own Mc. Something (Patrick Dempsey) in Columbia Pictures' romantic comedy Made of Honor.
I don't know if it is just me, but the film sounds like a reverse version of My Best Friend's Wedding.
Made of Honor chronicles the relationship between Tom (Dempsey) and Claire (Monaghan), who have been platonic friends for 10 years. He's a serial dater, while she wants marriage but hasn't found Mr. Right. Just as Tom is starting to think that he's relationship material after all, Claire gets engaged. When she asks Tom to be her "maid" of honor, he reluctantly agrees -- only so he can attempt to stop the wedding and woo her before it's too late.
Paul Weiland will direct from a screenplay by Deborah Kaplan and Harry Elfont. Scribes based the story on an original script from Adam Sztykiel.
Michelle Monaghan has a couple other projects coming our way including Miramax Films' Gone, Baby Gone and the untitled Farrelly brothers project under DreamWorks.
Production for Made of Honor will begin this April.
