Having won an Oscar for a role he had with Steve Carell in Little Miss Sunshine, Alan Arkin is looking to reunite with the actor for the big-screen version of Get Smart.

Arkin has been promoted to the chief of CONTROL, the organization that fights the evil forces of KAOS.
Arkin joins Carell, on board as agent Maxwell Smart, as well as Anne Hathaway as Agent 99. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Terrence Stamp have also been cast.
Arkin's character was originally played by Edward Platt in the 1965 TV series.
Alan Arkin has a couple other projects coming our way including Rendition, where he will co-star with Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal, and Sunshine Cleaning with Amy Adams and Emily Blunt.
