300
It looks like Warner Bros is taking a lesson from Gladiator. Remember the cross promotion the film had with football. You know, the one where we saw intercut clips of football players tackling one another while gladiators go at it. I think "We Will Rock You" was the theme song, but I can't exactly vouch for that.
Well, whatever the hell song it was, Warner Bros. plans to have a cross promotion with the NHL this week for their upcoming film 300. It worked for Gladiator, and 300 is almost in the same genre.
NHL Promo : 300
Another first for the NHL, the league will cut a 30-second TV spot mixing game play footage with Warner Bros' ultra-violent 300.
Produced by NHL Prods., the clip will air during NHL games on NBC, Versus and TSN.
To further push the cross promotion, Warner Bros will have NHL players appear at the film's preem.
300 opens to theatres on March 9th, 2007.
