Spider-Man 3
Though those of us in the states still have to wait until May 4th for the theatrical release of Spider-Man
3, Columbia Pictures has announced that the film will have an earlier premiere in Tokyo.
Spider-Man 3 Tokyo Premiere
Japan is first up to plate with Spider-Man 3 with a theatrical release on May 1st, and Tokyo will hold the film's world premiere so much earlier.
How much earlier?
Columbia Pictures' summer flagship of 2007 will premiere in Tokyo long before summer ever begins - April 16th!
Sony has yet to decide on how many screens the film will get in Japan, but they do know it will at least be 400. Their goals?
Only one: beat the record Japanese release of The Da Vinci Code, which finished with Y9.05 billion ($77.4 million).
Spider-Man 2 grossed $53.7 million in Japan -- $7 million less than Spider-Man -- a number that the third installment should easily beat.
Spider-Man 3 opens in the states on May 4th, 2007.
