That’s what all the joyous girls screamed out when they heard that Pierce Brosnan would be starring across Meryl Streep in the film, Mamma Mia! Incidentally, it’s the same phrase that males all over the world screamed after they heard that our ex-007 would be singing in the screen adaptation of the musical by the same name.

But have no fear, Pierce used to sing early on in his career so we know he’s got some pipes on him. He will play the character , Sam, who is one of three men thought to be the father of a woman who lives on one of the Greek Islands.
According to the Daily Variety, Pierce proclaimed, “I said yes right away because it meant working with Meryl Streep… What a kick in the pants, to be able to go off and spend time with Meryl on some Greek island, singing ABBA songs.”
Rest assured, Pierce Brosnan will probably be fornicating with half of the said women inhabiting the Greek Island in between filming which begins on June 25th.
In case you’ve been locked up in Gunatanamo for the past few years, the musical Mamma Mia! has made over $2 billion worldwide over the last 8 years. Phyllida Lloyd will direct the movie which is a good thing for those worried about the movie deviating from the play too much. She directed the play in London and on Broadway so have no fear.
