With the amount of extras on this Special Collector’s DVD, you can’t help but panic because you won’t know what the hell you’ll want to do first! You know the story, there’s nothing new there and for all intents and purposes, this is just Disney making money off its money so-to-speak, but man there are some serious extras!
DVD Review: Peter Pan Platinum Edition
You get the traditional digital remastery that happens so often with these older Disney pics but in case you were bored, this DVD will let you play Sudoku!! I’m not kidding! Now if you don’t have a Peter Pan tattoo on your ass, you may not really care about all these extras but if Peter Pan is your magic mushroom then you have found the fungi forest, my friend.
There are featurettes where Walt Disney explains why he made Peter Pan, an alternate opening (that was interesting), a sneak peek to the new Tinker Bell movie that is in the works, and games!! That’s how you get grown men to buy a DVD, damnit. I have to admit that I spent way too much time playing some of these games and you don’t have to be a Peter Pan lover to get addicted to them.
So all in all, the movie is the movie that you know (only it looks a little more magical) but the extras are equal to what the stars must get as a gift bag at the Oscars.
