Another novel has appeared on the adaptation chopping block and with it already comes a cast - Penelope Cruz, Ben Kingsley and Patricia Clarkson.
Cruz, Kingsley, Clarkson for Dying Animal
All three have boarded the untitled drama based on Philip Roth's novel, Dying Animal.
Isabel Coixete will direct.
Dying Animal is about a student who engages in a torrid affair with her professor and then returns years later with a revelation. Scribe Nicholas Meyer adapted the novel to screenplay.
Lakeshore will produce while MGM will distribute. Film will be the second one released under the Lakeshore-MGM deal. The first is Pathology, a thriller written by the same people who brought us Crank.
Cruz was last seen hoping for an Oscar for her role in Volver. Kingsley will next be seen in theaters with the release of You Kill Me.
Production on the untitled drama begins this April in Vancouver.
