Captain America
It's bound to happen. Every superhero must meet their fate sooner or later. Unfortunately for Captain America, he didn't even see his murderer coming. That's right folks, the 66 year-old superhero has been sniped in Marvel Comics latest issue.
Captain America (1941-2007)
Captain America began his career of crime fighting in 1941 as a patriotic emblem who not only battled your standard array of villains but Nazis and Hitler in World War II. Originally an art student, Steve Rogers was rejected by the army due to poor health. Eager to serve his country, Rogers agreed to be injected with a "Super Soldier Serum" - the result being Captain America.
The superhero found no time to retire at the end of WWII with the introduction of Communists and the Cold War. The superhero eventually found rest by entering suspended animation so he may serve his country in the future. He later returned to fight crime and help set up the Avengers.
With over half a century of crime-fighting behind him, Captain America met his doom by a sniper's bullet while exiting the Federal Courthouse.
Though this news is bound to crush some fans of the comic book series, Marvel has already considered the possibility of resurrection.
If that doesn't work out, know that you will see the Captain again some day on the silver screen.
