Maggie Gyllenhaal looks like she will be taking over the role that Katie Holmes vacated for the next segment in the Batman franchise, The Dark Knight. Holmes dropped out after having filmed Batman Begins after finding herself married to Tom Cruise and needing time to cope.
Christopher Nolan is back to direct so you can expect the same edge to the film that Batman Begins. Shooting looks like it will begin this spring and will grace theaters in the summer of 2008.
