Bryan Singer
It looks like Tom Cruise and Paula Wagner are making ground with their new shop at UA. Talent is key for the success of the newly revived studio and there is no better than Bryan Singer.
Bryan Singer Thrilled to Join UA
United Artists have greenlit an original thriller from Bryan Singer, which he will also direct. Though most fanboys have come to know Bryan Singer for his comic book films, this is the same Singer that deliver the thrillertastic The Usual Suspects oh so long ago.
Since the film was such a hit, it comes as no surprise that Singer will re-team with Suspects screenwriter McQuarrie. The project will also be their first collaboration since The Usual Suspects.
Singer had admitted that the project will be similar to Suspects, but it will take place in WWII - a popular choice nowadays.
"Bryan is one of the great filmmakers working today and Chris is an exceptional writer, and for Tom and me, this was an exciting opportunity for our second picture," Wagner said.
Though great news for UA, Singer's move means a delay in the Superman franchise for Warner Bros.; the sequel will now have to wait for Singer to complete not one but quite a few small projects.
UA's first film since resuscitation by Cruise/Wagner, Robert Redford's Lions for Lambs, will open to theaters November 9th.
