Michael Bay
Michael Bay, adaptation, sci-fi, Warner Bros. A mixture that already sounds pretty tasty.
Michael Bay to Direct 2012
Michael Bay will reteam with producer-scribes Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci to direct the sci-fi adaptation of 2012, based on the upcoming novel from Whitley Strieber.
Story follows an academic researcher who opens a portal into a parallel universe and makes contact with his double in order to stop an apocalypse foreseen by the ancient Mayans.
I don't know if you can call it a reunion for Bay-Kurtzman-Orci, since the trio is still working together on Transformers. Warner Bros. only got the rights to the Strieber novel last Friday, so negotiations are still on the table.
Besides Transformers, Kurtzman and Orci have been popping up in the news thanks to their involvement on Paramount's Star Trek XI.
