What is happening around here?! Just when we thought Sean Penn, Bruce Willis, Stanley Tucci, John Turturro and Robert De Niro were a big addition for What Just Happened?, we are now being told that Catherine Keener and Robin Wright Penn have just hopped on. I don't know who the casting director is, but it looks like they're hoping to have more talent than, I don't know, Thank You for Smoking.
Keener, Penn Ask What Just Happened?
Based on a script by Art Linson, What Just Happened? centers on a desperate movie producer (Robert De Niro) trying to survive the treachery of Hollywood and a broken second marriage.
Catherine Keener and Robin Wright Penn will be the two leading ladies in the film. Keener will play the head of the studio the producer is courting, while Wright Penn will portray the producer's ex-wife.
Though Bruce Willis and Sean Penn are all on the call sheet, they will have only minor/cameo roles that will feature them playing themselves.
Filming will begin this week.
Keener recently wrapped Where the Wild Things Are for Spike Jonze. Robin Wright Penn has also only recently completed work, but on Paramount Pictures' Beowulf.
