The Hunt
When you first turn this movie on, all you can do
is roll your eyes at what you think is another Blair Witch
type knock off. I am of course referring to both the storyline and the utter
lack of technology. I realize that film is supposed to be taken from the
vantage point of a home video but even the shots that are supposed to be
filmed with the All-star camera look a bit like a bench warmer.
DVD Review: The Hunt
The Hunt is well…how do I put this…it’s
not bad as far as a kind of budget horror/suspense flick but call me cheap,
I just didn’t buy it. Yes, the film is directed by the same director
as Children of the Corn but that movie didn’t exactly
win any awards either.
The Hunt is scarier when it’s the unknown. You know,
guys in the woods, hunting with bows and arrows all Legolas-like and you
are getting the hint that something is going wrong. But anytime you throw
in the supernatural aspect, it kind of loses its believability.
But I have a feeling that it will be one of those movies that you watch
and you’ll either laugh at everything and be furious that I told you
to watch it or you’ll want to tell me that I am a complete moron and
I didn’t get the genius of the film. Truth is, I could live with either
and I might tell both arguments, maybe you’re right.
