Just when you thought Jennifer Hudson's career began at American Idol and ended at Oscar, the surprisingly gifted actress will try a second role in Winged Creatures under the er, wing of Forest Whitaker.
Jennifer Hudson for Winged Creatures
Though Hudson is extremely busy recording her first album, which will be released by next fall, she began working with Unruly Films earlier this week to help find a way for her to spare some time for Winged Creatures.
Directed by Rowan Woods, Winged Creatures already has a stellar cast that includes Kate Beckinsale, Guy Pearce, Dakota Fanning, Jackie Earle Haley, Embeth Davidtz, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Josh Hutcherson and, just in case you missed it, Forest Whitaker. With a cast this strong one has to wonder why the hell producer Robert Salerno would go out of is way to try to fit in Hudson's complicated schedule.
Winged Creatures is about survivors of a brutal murder that takes place in a restaurant.
Hudson's beautiful voice convinces the would-be murderer to lower his weapon. OK, OK, that part wasn't true.
