Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Yesterday we posted an article pointing out some of the scenes that did not make the cut during the transfer from book to film for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. During the discussion I mentioned how the lack of Quidditch in Order had something to do with the phasing out of the sport in the books.
It turns out that Warner Bros and Scholastic agree. According to 'Sarah', Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will feature absolutely no mention of Quidditch.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is Quidditchless
The question was asked way back when OotP's pages began to turn. With an open war now upon us in the wizarding world, it seemed that Potter wouldn't spend any time hanging around Hogwarts - let alone playing Quidditch. Not that he needs to, considering that he is gifted in the only magic that is important and, if that isn't excuse enough, look at how well the Weasley twins are doing.
'Sarah' claims that this information was available in the same EW report we covered yesterday (I missed it).
Don't get me wrong, I like Quidditch and the rivalries that result in the book. It is just that this is the final Potter installment, so most should have no problem doing without it in favor of a more complete story.
