American Idol
How disappointed are we that Tony Bennett has the flu and was unable to perform at the results show? But if you had to think of someone else who knows how to deliver ‘the standards’ it would be Michael Buble. He crooned an upbeat version of “Call Me Irresponsible”.
American Idol S6 Elimination Round 4
It’s time to say goodbye to number 9. Our contestants are divided into three groups of three. Group 1 – Blake, Chris and Sanjaya. Group 2- Haley, Gina and Phil. Group 3 – Jordin, Melinda and LaKisha. The most votes so far this season were cast after last night’s performances – 33 million. Ryan allows the highest group of vote getters to take a seat. That one is easy to guess - Group 3 take a seat. He next tells Group 1 they are in the middle, so they take a seat. (How can Sanjaya be in the middle 3? Let’s make it our mission to vote for the good performers.) The highest vote getter from the bottom group is allowed to be seated – that would be Phil. It is now down to Haley and Gina.
Haley is already crying. Ryan announces Gina will be the next to leave us. She becomes weepy as well. She made it through most of her song and was surrounded with hugs and tears from the other contestants.
Stay tuned for performances by the elite eight Tuesday night on Fox.
