What a shocker! Spider-Man 3 rated PG-13, who would have thought?!
Though we assumed the third Spidy installment would be 'PG-13' ever since the creation of the film's movie page, the official site now confirms what we have been telling you all along
MPAA Rates Spider-Man 3
The MPAA has stamped Spider-Man 3 with the 'PG-13' rating for 'sequences of intense action violence'.
Since the entire comicbook genre revolves around the PG-13 rating, this news should come as no sruprise to anybody. Unless, of course, some of you thought the appearance of Venom and darker tones in Spider-Man 3 would push the film to an R-rating; something that Columbia Pictures would never let happen.
PG-13 guarantees box office gold for (most) tentpole films, so there you go.
This question has appeared in my box quite a few times lately and I figured I might as well get a discussion going. Which May release do you believe will have a bigger box office take - Spider-Man 3 or Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End?
Both are box office juggernauts, which is unfortunate for the studios that the two have been forced to face off thanks to the release of Transformers and Order of the Phoenix in July
