Indiana Jones
After pulling our chain on the script development for nearly a year on Indiana Jones IV, Lucas is finally ready to show that the film is making progress.
No, he doesn't have anything to literally 'show' just yet, but at least he has laid down a new date.
Indy 4 Coming Memorial Day Weekend, May 22nd, 2008
With the release of Indiana Jones IV set for May 22nd, 2008, George Lucas recently hinted that we should have a trailer for the film by this Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving!? What month is that? November?! Crap!
OK, OK, so we still have some time, but it is still nice to know that the trailer will arrive before the New Year.
During an interview with USAToday, Lucas discussed Indiana Jones IV and the 'action-heavy' Star Wars TV series.
Jokes have been made about how the franchise will keep 64-year-old star Harrison Ford up and running, but Lucas doesn't see that as a problem.
"He's not running in any of the movies," Lucas says. "He's either on a horse or driving a car or a motorcycle. And he'll play his age in this movie with what's appropriate. The chases are more suspenseful than speedy. Like the rolling ball in the first film — it's not that he's running that fast, it's that there's a giant ball coming at him. And he will get beat up, which is a tradition for us."
[Lucas] says there'll still be plenty of action in Indy 4, the official title of which he hopes to keep under wraps until the first trailer hits theaters around Thanksgiving.
Will Lucas really be able to protect the film's title up until the release of the first trailer? Doubtul.
