I never took Lionsgate as the holiday type. The studio has teamed up with the Firm to finance The Christmas Cottage, starring Marcia Gay Harden, Peter O'Toole and Jared Padalecki.
O'Toole, Harden Padalicki for The Christmas Cottage
A biopic of painter Thomas Kinkade, Harden is set to play the painter's mother. Jared Padalecki, who you may have seen in Supernatural, will play the lead role of Kinkade. God only knows what role Peter O'Toole is playing, but expect it to be something close to an aged mentor. Just a guess, but it fits.
Based off a script by Ken LaZebnik, The Christmas Cottage will cover the events that led to Kinkade becoming a painter. Michael Campus is already up in Vancouver preparing to direct.
The Christmas Cottage will enter production (in Vancouver) this month.
You can next see Peter O'Toole in Stardust. Harden, who is now in theatres with The Hoax, will next appear in The Invisible at the end of this month.
