The results show is now one hour long – I’m not sure why. Oh, ratings.
We opened with a performance from Akon singing “Don’t Matter”. We heard him earlier on Gwen Stefani week.
There was a cute piece with Simon and African school children promoting Idol Gives Back.

They showed an ‘audition tape’ featuring Tony Bennett. Very clever.
Jennifer Lopez performed the hit “Que Hicistes” from her first Spanish album, “Como Ama Una Mujer” (How a Woman Loves). She still sounds great. Her hair, make-up and body never looked better. Muy caliente!
The bottom three contestants were Phil, Haley and Chris. Chris was the first sent back to safety – and rightfully so. There were over 35 million votes cast – the most this season to date. As predicted here last night, Haley received the lowest number of votes. We have reached the lucky seven.
