Two more have piled into the backseat of Speed Racer to fill the roles of Racer X and Sparky.
Fox is Racer X, Kick Gurry is Sparky
Larry and Andy Wachowski have picked up LOST star Matthew Fox to play Racer X in Speed Racer. In addition, Aussie actor Kick Gurry is in final negotiation to play Sparky, Speed's hippie mechanic.
The additional cast will join up with Christina Ricci, who Warner Bros. only picked up last week to play Trixie, Emile Hirsch, Susan Sarandon and John Goodman.
Speed Racer tells the story of a young race car driver, Speed (Hirsch), and his quest for glory in his thundering, gadget-laden Mach 5. Fox will play Speed's mysterious racing rival, an enigmatic soldier of fortune.
Though busy with ABC's hit series, LOST, Matthew Fox will find time to film during his summer hiatus from the show. Production on Speed Racer is set to begin this summer in Berlin.
Speed Racer is based on the anime series from Tatsuo Yoshida.
Matthew Fox has previous experience with Warner Bros thanks to We Are Marshall.
