A beautifully crafted fund raising event, but what will the shock be? We saw many video clips of impoverished children. There were some great celebrity performances. It was good to see Idol alums Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood. Actors made appearances in the effort to raise funds.
American Idol S6 Elimination Round 7... Kinda
At intervals during the show Ryan let us know one by one which of our contestants were safe. He said they were in no particular order. Here are our idols in sequence of being declared ‘safe’ – Melinda, Blake, Phil and LaKisha. There were 70 million votes. This leaves us with Jordin and Chris. Now we know neither of them should be the bottom vote getter. But Ryan did tell us there would be a shock. He pronounced Chris safe. And just as Jordin started to cry, he said she too was safe. This was the shock. They for the first time would be adding this weeks votes with the votes cast next week. The bottom TWO will then go home. As Ryan said how can we send anyone home on a charity week?
Loved The Simpsons’ bit. I’m not sure how I felt about Celine Dion’s duet with Elvis. It just doesn’t seem quite right to me.
Next week will be very emotional. Performances on Tuesday and results on Wednesday on Fox.
