What the hell does a 1st Assistant Director do? Good question. Fortunately we have Eric Heffron here to tell us exactly what he did on Spider-Man 3.

Now I want to be a 1st Assistant Director. No? How about 5th Assistant Director? No? Damn!

Seriously though, what does the 1st Assistant Director do? Besides sounding absurdly bored, Eric Hoffman hangs out behind the camera and makes sure that everything is cool. Seriously, that's it. He gets the extras to be extras, and gets spectators out of the way of the camera.

By the way he sounds, I have to assume he has a nap in store by noon every day.

Spider-Man 3 opens to theatres on May 4th.
