The second I saw both the finished domestic and international trailers for Stardust I was captivated. Not that the film looked like, let's say, Transformers or Pirates 3, but it was at least prepped to be the biggest surprise of the summer. With early buzz and positive screening reports to back it, Stardust could accidentally become a box office contender.
Harry Spills Lovedust for Stardust
I got to hand it to Paramount for finding Stardust a suitable date over summer. With July looking crowded, Stardust will finish off the month with a July 27th release. Transformers and Potter will still be strong in the theatres, but Stardust might fill a void for families looking for an all-out fun adventure safe for the kids.
And, with the positive reviews still stacking up, the film should enter theatres with enough hype to draw all other types of moviegoers as well -- including the ladies. Though Harry at AICN thought the trailer for Stardust made the film look like nonsense, his thoughts on the film are the exact opposite.
The film?
Utter Perfection!
Absolutely loved it.
Now here’s something you need to realize going into this movie… this isn’t an ACTION fantasy, it is a ROMANTIC FANTASY… and one that works, I’m genuinely pleased to say.
I absolutely love this film and feel it could very well wind up being amongst my favorites of the year when all is said and done. If not, we're in for one helluva year.
