Hugh Laurie
Fox Searchlight Pictures and New Regency have picked up both Hugh Laurie, who has been enjoying his residence on the hit series House, and Chris Evans, who has recently been 'flaming on' in the upcoming installment Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, to star in the once-titled The Night Watchman.
Hugh Laurie, Chris Evans for Night Watch
I find it odd that Fox Searchlight found Night Watch to be a better title than The Night Watchmen. Especially since we already had the Russian film, Night Watch, with sequels to boot. Hmmm, interesting...
According to Variety, reprinted at DarkHorizons, Laurie and Evans have joined the cast of the James Ellroy-penned crime drama Night Watch.
David Ayer has been picked up to direct with both Keanu Reeves and Forest Whitaker already onboard to star.
Night Watch centers around a Los Angeles cop, Reeves, who's become wedded to the bottle after his wife's death and is framed by a onetime mentor, Whitaker, for the killing of a fellow officer. Laurie and Evans would play internal affairs officers.
