2007 MTV Movie Awards 2007 MTV Movie Awards

MTV has released their categories for this year's MTV Movie Awards including the list of nominees. We have given our own predictions below, but feel free to give your own HERE. The person who is most accurate will win... something (still deciding on what).

2007 MTV Movie Awards Nominees

Best Movie
300 (Warner Bros. Pictures)
Blades of Glory (Paramount Pictures)
Borat (20th Century Fox)
Little Miss Sunshine (Fox Searchlight)
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (Walt Disney Pictures)

And the winner is... 300. This award show is all about cool films that push the mold... of cool. Pirates will be close, but nothing beats a Spartan.

Best Performance
Gerard Butler- 300 (Warner Bros. Pictures)
Johnny Depp- Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (Walt Disney Pictures)
Jennifer Hudson- Dreamgirls (Paramount Pictures/DreamWorks SKG)
Keira Knightley- Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (Walt Disney Pictures)
Beyonce Knowles- Dreamgirls (Paramount Pictures/DreamWorks SKG)
Will Smith- The Pursuit of Happyness (Sony Pictures)

And the winner is... Johnny Depp for Dead Man's Chest. The acting in Dreamgirls is excellent, but most who watch the MTV Movie Awards haven't seen it. Will Smith is always a favorite, but everybody seems to love Captain Jack -- even if the second installment didn't stand up to the original.

Breakthrough Performance

Emily Blunt -- The Devil Wears Prada (20th Century Fox)
Abigail Breslin -- Little Miss Sunshine (Fox Searchlight)
Lena Headey -- 300 (Warner Bros. Pictures)
Columbus Short -- Stomp the Yard (Screen Gems)
Jaden Smith -- The Pursuit of Happyness (Sony Pictures)
Justin Timberlake -- Alpha Dog (Universal Pictures)

Damn, this one is tough! Blunt is cute, but so is JT. Smith carries his dad's popularity and adds a touch of his own. Abigail killed it in Sunshine, but Headey showed off some amazing nipples. Why not give it to Timberlake?

Best Comedic Performance
Emily Blunt -- The Devil Wears Prada (20th Century Fox)
Sacha Baron Cohen -- Borat (20th Century Fox)
Will Ferrell -- Blades of Glory (Paramount Pictures)
Adam Sandler -- Click (Sony Pictures)
Ben Stiller -- Night at the Museum (20th Century Fox)

And the winner is... Will Ferrell. Some of the actor's films have been, well, they haven't been Anchorman. Blades of Glory is a nice return to hilarity.

Best Kiss
Cameron Diaz & Jude Law -- The Holiday (Sony Pictures)
Will Ferrell & Sacha Baron Cohen -- Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby (Sony Pictures)
Columbus Short & Meagan Good -- Stomp the Yard (Screen Gems)
Mark Wahlberg & Elizabeth Banks -- Invincible (Walt Disney Pictures)
Marlon Wayans & Brittany Daniel -- Little Man (Sony Pictures)

And the winner is... Marlon Wayans & Brittany Daniel. I can think of better than what is listed here, but MTV does enjoy picking some offbeat contestants.

Best Villain
Tobin Bell -- Saw III (Lions Gate Films)
Jack Nicholson -- The Departed (Warner Bros. Pictures)
Bill Nighy -- Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (Walt Disney Pictures)
Rodrigo Santoro -- 300 (Warner Bros. Pictures)
Meryl Streep -- The Devil Wears Prada (20th Century Fox)

And the winner is... Jack Nicholson. Though I have not seen the scene myself, it has been reported that there was a segment featuring Nicholson's character taking a dildo up the backend of nothing good; if you know what I mean. He has an excuse, however, considering the mounds of coke on hand. Rodrigo Santoro also has a shot for looking nothing like himself while performing a homoerotic scene with Butler.

Best Fight
Jack Black & Hector Jimenez vs. Los Duendes -- Nacho Libre (Paramount Pictures)
Gerard Butler vs. "The Uber Immortal" -- 300 (Warner Bros. Pictures)
Sacha Baron Cohen vs. Ken Davitian- Borat (20th Century Fox)
Will Ferrell vs. Jon Heder -- Blades of Glory (Paramount Pictures)
Uma Thurman vs. Anna Faris -- My Super Ex-Girlfriend (20th Century Fox)

And the winner is... 300. Though my six sense is assuming that MTV-viewers are going to select something a little more off the charts, to have a mini-boss in any film represents the best of kickassery.

Best Summer Movie You Haven't Seen Yet
Evan Almighty (Universal Pictures)
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (20th Century Fox)
Hairspray (New Line Cinema)
Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix (Warner Bros. Pictures)
Rush Hour 3 (New Line Cinema)
Transformers (Paramount Pictures)

And the winner is... Transformers. Hands down, this film looks amazing. But, who am I kidding, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix has a following that competes with all of Christianity.

mtvU Best Filmmaker on Campus
Robert Dastoli (University of Central Florida) -- "Southwestern Orange County vs. The Flying Saucers"
Maria Gigante (Columbia College, Chicago) -- "Girls Room"
Josh Greenbaum (University of Southern California) -- "Border Patrol"
Alexander Poe (Columbia University) -- "Please Forget I Exist"
Andrew Shipsides (Savannah College of Art and Design) -- "Bottleneck"

And the winner is... "Border Patrol". Like I have seen any of these, but I got to give it to USC.

Don't agree? Then give your own predictions HERE.

300 has the most nominations with 5. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest is a close second with 4.

Make your vote at MTV.

Stay tuned for updates.
