American Idol
We were treated to highlights from Idol Gives Back.
Robin Thicke performed “Lost Without U” from “The Evolution of Robin Thicke”. He is part Bee Gees part Usher, an interesting sound.
American Idol S6 Elimination Round 8
Ryan told us over the two weeks of voting almost 135 million votes were cast. Much stretching is done. Even though Ryan promised us there would be no ‘filler’. How else can the results show take an hour with only six contestants left?
Seated in the first row are Melinda, Phil and LaKisha. Ryan asks them to come up to the center of the stage. He first declares Melinda to be safe. He follows by telling LaKisha she is safe. Phil will be our first idol of the night to sing his farewell song.
The back row consists of Jordin, Blake and Chris. Ryan has them stand. He immediately tells Jordin she is safe after what he put her through last week. (As you recall, she was the last left standing and started crying assuming she was going home.) Ryan then tells the guys they will have to wait until after the break. He neglected to mention they would also have to wait until after Bon Jovi performed.
I was ready for Bon Jovi to rock the house. But the band chose to play a ballad – “Make a Memory”. Yes, Richie Sambora was also there. I know they want to promote their new songs, but….. How disappointed are we that Jon didn’t come out and kick ass with “It’s My Life”? I must say for 45 he’s still hot!
No suspense here, Chris would be going home. He sang and the idols shared a group hug.
Our final four are Melinda, LaKisha, Jordin and Blake. Oh wait, I think this is exactly what I predicted (see American Idol Season 6 Episode 2).
Next week be ready to pull out your polyester and platforms. We will boogie on down with Barry Gibb. Performances Tuesday and results Wednesday on Fox.
