Carnage
Though Spider-Man 3 has just only entered theatres and conquered the box office this weekend, it looks like the braintrust at Sony has already got a couple villains selected for the "more than likely" sequel, Spider-Man 4.
Spider-Man 4 Has Its Villains?
I thought Spider-Man 3's quality suffered thanks to having too many villains. Not enough character development turned into a choppy story and, in short, a disappointing movie. It looks like the multiple-villain issue isn't stopping Sony, however, who, according to FreezeDriedMovies, is looking to have at least two villains in Spider-Man 4.
Our regular scooper tells FreezeDriedMovies that plans are underway for Spider-Man 4, which were (obviously) set up in the third film. In the third entry, Dr. Curt Connors (played by Dylan Baker) looks at a piece of symbiote with Peter Parker. The movie then travels along it's path without another mention of that "piece" of symbiote. This is the set up for Spider-Man 4 where that small piece of alien symbiote becomes CARNAGE.
Dr. Connors has been hanging around the franchise ever since Spider-Man 2 and was one of the guessed-villains for Spider-Man 3. Carnage comes after Venom, so he wasn't much of an option for the third installment.
FDM also suggests that Black Cat could be an option. We heard a similar rumor for Spider-Man 3 as well.
