Tim Allen
Walt Disney has acquired the comedy pitch Yosemite Three that will serve as a starring vehicle for Tim Allen.
Tim Allen for Yosemite Three
Though Zoom is something Allen hopes to forget, the actor has more than redeemed himself with the mid-life crisis buddy comedy Wild Hogs. With his popularity renewed, Disney is setting him up for a similar formula.
For Yosemite Three, Allen will play a corporate employee who heads off on a company retreat. Bored with a mandated nature hike, he and two others hole up in a bar and are reported missing in Yosemite National Park. They longer they stay missing, the more popular they become in news reports.
Scribes Michael Carnes and Josh Gilbert will pen the script. Having won an Emmy writing for The Wayne Brady Show, Carnes and Gilbert have recently been involved in multiple high-priced deals. New Line purchased Mr. Woodcook and Furry Vengeance from the pair while Paramount picked up both Stalker, A Love Story, with Owen Wilson attached, and The Worst Man.
With the box office success of Wild Hogs it comes as no surprise that Disney is fast-tracking a sequel.
