Ryan's TV Guesstimates

LOST Season Three Poster LOST
I have been watching a lot of TV recently and, with all popular shows coming to their grand finale, I thought I'd throw out a couple of new theories for some of our favorites.

Remember, all of my opinions are strictly guesses.

Lost, 24, Heroes Theories

We will begin with LOST. Though I still have a strong intuition placing all these characters in purgatory, I came up with another idea while reading the Dark Materials trilogy in preparation for The Golden Compass this December.

Multiverses. As suggested by Quantum Physics, multiple universes run parallel to one another with only small differences between them. Desmond admits that it is his fault that the plane crashed on the island, as he refused to punch in the necessary code in the bunker. What happens when you fail to do that? Though we don't know exactly, we do know enough energy is released to basically open the sky. Could Desmond have opened a window that connects one universe to another? Did he accidentally travel through such a window while sailing on the open ocean?

We know that the Dharma Initiative is something very secretive, perhaps they are actually studying the benefits (such as the super-healing island) of visiting other parallel universes. Hence why you can die in one universe and survive in another; we recently discovered that Oceanic 815 was actually found with all passengers dead inside. The arrival of Locke's father would mean the Dharma crew has some type of module that allows them to jump to a parallel universe whenever they want.

Far fetched? Well, you are probably right, but this theory is as good as any for this show. The creators can even go forward and say purgatory is its own universe and can now be accessed through science.

Chances of this being true? Not good.

If you saw Heroes last night you most likely caught the show's last-ditched effort to make Sylar seem more human. Why would they do such a thing? Because they plan to kill him, that's why! Though I have had multiple emails sent in claiming how the show needs a character like Sylar for future seasons, NBC has already got that covered. Though it will be sad to see Zachary Quinto go, expect the show to adapt by creating multiple plot lines for next season -- instead of just one that revolves around (partially) stopping Sylar.

The odds that Sylar dies? 75%

Last up is 24. Though Heroes has stolen a lot of my attention from the show, there is one thing that I can only assume every one of you avid watchers have noticed. What could I possibly be talking about?

Jack Bauer has a son!

Isn't it obvious? We know that Jack had a small affair with his sister-in-law, Marilyn, and we can't help but notice how much her son, Josh Bauer, looks a lot like Jack. The show made it a point to place Jack and Josh side by side during one of its first episodes this season and again, with hour 21, made sure to hint that Josh is Jack's son.

When Josh admits his shame for his father, Marilyn assures him that he is not Graem.

Josh is also the appropriate age to fit in with the affair, making all the puzzle pieces come together.

Odds that one of these three final hours will admit that Josh is Jack's son? Marilyn wants to tell us, I just know it. 95%

The only way she won't is if Fox wants to save that surprise for the next season -- which would be lame.

Stay tuned for updates.
