The Office's Rainn Wilson has been picked up by Fox Atomic to star in the upcoming comedy The Rocker.

Directed by Peter Cattaneo -- the guy responsible for showing us a Full Monty -- The Rocker will feature Rainn Wilson as a failed drummer who gets a second shot at fame.
Wilson is negotiating to topline the film during his hiatus from the NBC sitcom The Office. Scripted by Ryan Jaffe, and re-written by Wally Wolodarsky and Maya Forbes, the comedy casts Wilson as a modern day Pete Best, the man who dropped out of the Beatles before the band became globally famous.
Having recently appeared in theatres with The Last Mimzy, Wilson has also recently jumped aboard the DreamWorks comedy, Girlfriend Experience.
Shawn Levy and Tom McNulty will produce The Rocker.
