Here is a brief update coming at you for Fantastic
Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. It looks like Fox has begun to do cross promotions with the NBA including a new TV spot that asks who will rise in both the film and in the basketball playoffs.

"Four to save the world, four wins to earn the trophy. With everything at stake. Who will rise?" Interesting choice to compare saving the world to a trophy, but what can you do?
I still think the best cross-promotion ad ever is the one between Gladiator and the NFL. Not only does the sport fit with its bone-crunching tackles, but the clips were cut seamlessly between football and fight sequences from the film.
