Daniel Craig
Daniel Craig continues to pick up hot projects. Straight out of the oven with Layer Cake, Craig recently satisfied naysayers with his impression of Bond in Casino Royale and he will next try sci fi and fantasy with both The Invasion and The Golden Compass (Lord Asriel).
But it doesn't end there. Edward Zwick has recently teamed with Craig to create Defiance, a World War II action-drama that will put the actor back in the shoes of being a Jew.
Daniel Craig for Defiance
Having played a Jew looking for vengeance in Munich, Daniel Craig will play one again in Defiance.
Written, directed and produced by Edward Zwick, Defiance follows four Jewish brothers living in Nazi occupied Poland who escape into the forest, where they join up with Russian resistance fighters in battling the Nazis and trying to save the lives of other Jews. The film is based on a true story.
Craig and Zwick have both set Defiance as the next project on their to-do list. The film is set to enter production early this September, meaning Craig will have the project wrapped before filming on the next James Bond installment begins.
The film has been given a budget of $50 million, with Paramount Vantage currently in advanced negotiations to distribute.
