After picking up the remake of The Secret Life of Walter Mitty from Paramount, 20th Century Fox has made their first big move by casting Mike Myers to star.
Mike Myers for The Secret Life of Walter Mitty
Paramount gave up on The Secret Life of Walter Mitty after a long and bumpy road. Jim Carrey was once attached to star and multiple directors came and went over the past few years including Steven Spielberg and Ron Howard.
And this was long before the film got to Paramount. Samuel Goldwyn Jr. moved Walter Mitty to Paramount and discovered the same curse there when Mean Girls director Mark Waters and Owen Wilson fell through. Hoping that third time's a charm, Goldwyn Jr. carried the film over to 20th Century Fox, who have recently picked up Mike Myers to star.
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty could be Myers' next live-action production after The Love Guru. Since Samuel Goldwyn Jr. and John Goldwyn have been on since the beginning, they will hang around to produce.
