Dane Cook
It looks like Dane Cook is starting to fall within a groove. Sure, we all know that comedy is his foray, but his next project sounds all too familiar.
Dane Cook for Bachelor No. 2
Dane Cook is in negotiations to star in Bachelor No. 2, a comedy that will likely be directed by Howard Deutch.
Though my love for Dane Cook will probably never falter -- even with insider talk that claims he is a pain in the ass to publicists -- I can't help but notice a small trend going on here. His upcoming film, Good Luck Chuck, has him play a single guy that women have one-night stands with in order to find their true love the following day, week, or whatever. Some would call this a curse, but I would not. The story leads up to him finding the girl of his dreams and now he must break this curse. Funny premise, yes?
Written by scribe Jordan B. Cahan, Bachelor No. 2 takes what sounds like it takes a different approach to the same story.
In Bachelor No. 2, Dane Cook will play a man named Tank, known for being hired to take girls out on absolutely terrible dates so they will crawl back to the boyfriends they dumped. When his best friend needs his help with the girl who dumped him, Tank struggles with his raging libido and the meaning of friendship.
See any similarity? It's almost creepy.
Bachelor No. 2 is set to enter production this August.
