They sure don't wait long, do they? After finding summer success with the comedy Knocked Up, Judd Apatow and Seth Rogen are looking to reunite (can I call it that?) for next year's summer comedy, Pineapple Express.
Judd Apatow and Seth Rogen to Reteam for Pineapple Express
Universal may have had the comedic duo this year, but Sony will take advantage of the Rogen-Apatow pairing in 2008 with Pineapple Express. Sony is so prepped on the project, they have already announced a release date - August 8th, 2008.
Directed by David Gordon Green, Pineapple Express centers on a delinquent duo of dudes on the run from gangsters after one inadvertently witnesses a drug-related murder.
The comedy will also star James Franco, Danny McBride, Gary Cole and Rosie Perez.
Pineapple Express will have to go up against Hellboy 2 and Journey 3-D in the August slot. Apatow and Rogen do not fear the competition, however, as they almost gave At World's End a run for its money last week with Knocked Up.
